HOW TO MAKE PEACE WITH STRESS

Join me for this free workshop and I will teach you how to use stress to get unstuck and live a more meaningful and satisfying life.

Hey there my friend, I’m Stephannie.

I’m a yoga therapist and creator of make peace with stress.

What does it mean to make peace with stress?

Philosophically, making peace with stress is:

changing your perspective of stress.

Stress is not bad for your health and well-being.

Stress is not something to reduce, relieve, and manage.

Stress is your built-in guidance and support system.

Practically, make peace with stress is:

a simple and effective method.

A method to stop perpetuating chronic stress.

A method to start using it to help you to get what you want.

A method to experience more balance, calm, confidence, physical health, mental wellness, and a more purposeful and meaningful life.

Why you want to learn how to make peace with stress.

Because of this science.

The University of Wisconsin asked 30K adults:

How much stress do you experience in your daily life?

Do you believe stress is bad for your health?

Researchers tracked the participants for the next 8 years and found that those who experienced high levels of stress had a 43% increased rate of premature death.

But only if they believed stress was bad for them!

Guess who had the lowest death rates?

Not those with moderate or even low levels of stress.

People with high levels of stress who don’t believe stress is bad for their health had the lowest death rates of all of the groups.

Why?!

Researchers at Harvard found a reason why lots of stress is deadly for some and not others.

Study participants were put through a social stress test with heart monitors.

All of their heart rates went up which is a normal part of the stress response.

But there was one extraordinary difference.

The arteries of those who believe stress is unhealthy constricted.

This is why stress is typically associated with heart attacks and cardiovascular disease.

(The #1 cause of death in women!)

The arteries of those who believed their stress helped them feel more alert and equipped to handle the test stayed relaxed.

This is the healthy way for your heart to handle stress.

This is what happens when you experience courage.

Because your life is demanding, right?

What if instead of feeling constriction and stressed, you felt relaxed and courageous?

Imagine how that would feel.

How would it change things for you?

I’ll tell you, your life will much feel easier.

Changing my mindset about stress and being able to be courageous in the face of life’s demands has helped me:

overcome trichotillomania,

go through melanoma,

experience a life-affirming realization,

come out at 46 years old,

become a more authentic, confident version of myself,

divorce after 20 years,

start my life completely over,

happily co-parent teenagers,

and run my own business since 2010.

Believing stress is bad keeps us in the mode of perpetually just trying to survive.

Being courageous is a springboard to fulfillment and personal growth.
